FEATURE: James Moore S14A

Meet James Moore’s S14A. Bright and reflective.


I met James at a Fueltopia event last year and since then I have followed his build and updates. I have seen the car change quite a lot, the latest change being this awesome livery designed by Tom at Infamous Creations.


James purchased the car around 3 years ago completely standard as he wanted something different to his friends who were drifting Nissan Skylines. The colour is quite an uncommon Nissan colour so he knew he had to have it.


The car was stripped as much as possible. James upgraded the worn bushes and bought a set of fully adjustable coilovers. The diff was also removed and welded.


The plan for the car was to help James learn more about cars and how they work. He started with simple bolt on power upgrades and the build continued from there. Of course it was always going to be a drift car!


Mapped by Nispro Performance it produces 307bhp with 310ft/lb of torque with a Link ECU.


You can see James at most of the Fueltopia Barrel Sprint rounds this year as well as selected Norfolk Arena drift days and The Newark Country Show.

British Drift Championship 2016 – Round 1 – Lydden Hill

Last weekend marked the start of the 2016 British Drift Championship. Once again, the rain made an appearance at Lydden Hill and it was not shy.


Qualifying took place at 12:00pm which saw some impressive runs in the tricky conditions.


The driver that stood out the most was Marc Huxley in his RA28 Celica. Huxley was pulling off some awesome entries all day. He managed to score 89.6 on one of his qualifying runs putting him in second place. This was beaten by current champion Jack Shanahan.


As the rain continued to pour, battles took place. Wayne Keeber’s Soarer looked much quicker with the new horsepower added over the off season. Wayne managed to progress into the top 16 where he had to battle the incredible Driftworks DW86. Sadly due to a faulty throttle sensor Phil Morrison had to retire from the competition on the second run. This meant Wayne progressed into the top 8.


Shane Lynch’s 370Z looked like a monster out on track. Shane made it all the way to the final where he had to battle Marc Huxley. Huxley’s consistent driving meant he won the battle giving Shane second place.


Third place on the podium was Simon Perry from Team Lassa Tyres in his R35. This car has been improved massively and looks brilliant!

Fueltopia Barrel Sprint Round 2

On Saturday 2nd May I attended round 2 of the Fueltopia Barrel Sprint. I arrived at the track just before lunch time which meant that I was in time for the practice sessions.



I had never been to the Fueltopia Barrel Sprint before so I was watching very carefully. I then walked up the pits to have a look at some of the drivers weapons. It’s A DRIFTlife’s Skyline’s were both looking spot on as usual thanks to their sponsor Shining Monkey UK.


The weather was starting to get better as qualifying approached us. Drivers started to line up ready to go out for their qualifying runs. James Moore’s S14A certainly looks the part on track and off.


Luke Woodham looked like he was very happy to be piloting his car again!


Qualifying then started, drivers were under the pressure now as they were being timed for their runs. Some drivers were playing it safe, keeping a good distance from the barrels.



With qualifying over and the drivers waiting for the results I took another walk up the pits. Justin Clarke’s S14A looked stunning. The S14A clearly is the car to use as most drivers had one.


It was then time for the top 16 finals. Dmitrij Sribnyj’s Subaru looked quick.


During the final, Luke Woodham made a mistake giving the other driver the win. However, Luke didn’t look too disappointed with 2nd place.
